Pooraka Community Child Care Centre

Pooraka Community Child Care Centre is a community based not for profit service, managed by a committee of parent users and staff.

We aim to provide a warm, welcoming atmosphere for families, encouraging open communication and a partnership in the education and care of children at our centre. Established in 1989, we have a dedicated staff team, most of whom have been with us for more than 10 years, some over 20 years. Majority of our staff team have either completed or are working towards the Diploma in Children’s Services with one staff member working towards the Early Childhood Degree.

We have a four year qualified early childhood teacher on staff and provide a DECD funded Pre –school program; children at our service learn to develop positive social skills, form positive attachments and relationships, have meaningful relationships with other children and cultures and are provided with numeracy/literacy and pre-reading programs.
