WHO WE ARE

We are the first childcare centre run by the Hessel Group, who have been supporting South Australian children and families since 1998. The Hessel group do not only offer childcare in and out of the home, but also run a Registered Training Organisation specialising in training for the early childhood, disability and community services sector. This means only the best quality and most qualified staff to care for your children and your family!

What sets Hessel apart is our additional support services for both children and families, our commitment to sustainability, and our holistic approach to wellness and nutrition.

As well as a team of passionate and inspiring educators, Hessel has a team of allied health professionals to provide additional support to children and their families, particularly those with additional needs. 

We have partnered with Sprout catering, whose qualified nutritionists have designed an exciting nutritional program specific for children aged 0-5. 

Sustainability is a way of life at Hessel. Our nappies, wipes and gloves are completely biodegradable to support the environment. Caring for our environment is also at the heart of our educational program, with children given the opportunity to care for our herb and vegetable garden which supplies fresh produce for our kitchen.

WHAT WE DO

Education: Our curriculum focuses on the development of children’s independence, creativity, responsibility, social skills and emotional intelligence.

We see every child as a unique learner, and our emergent, play based curriculum is tailored to the individual needs of every child.

Our curriculum incorporates both the Early Learning Years framework and STEAM; an integrated approach that utilises science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics to guide education; equipping children with the tools they need for the future.

Children are encouraged to make choices that influence their world, engage in meaningful individual and group experiences, explore, develop friendships and express their ideas in a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment.

Our programs are delivered in partnership with our educators, family and community, and are receptive to each child’s ideas, interests, strengths and abilities.

OUR CENTRE

We are located in the heart of historic Port Adelaide on Commercial Road with access from Kyle Street. There is convenient drop off and pick up zones for parking and all day parking a short two minute walk away.

We offer:

• Brand new facilities and educational resources, furniture and technology

• Spacious open plan indoor and outdoor areas

• 5 designated day rooms plus communal dining and music areas

• Access to allied health professionals

• 12 hour sessions, Monday to Friday

• Environmentally friendly nappies and wipes supplied

• All meals supplied planned by nutritionists and prepared by onsite chef

• A dynamic educational program underpinned by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) delivered by our passionate and inspiring educators
