Clyde North YMCA Early Learning Centre
35 Aayana Street, Clyde North VIC 3978
Clyde North YMCA Early Learning Centre is a custom-built early learning centre that provides a safe and supportive place for your child to develop independence, confidence, communication and social skills which will benefit them throughout their life.
We offer long day care and kindergarten for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years.
Who we are
YMCA Victoria is a community not-for-profit organisation meaning all that we receive is put back into improving our programs and services. YMCA Victoria has been working with young people ever since we became a part of the Victorian community in 1853. We passionately believe in the power of inspired young people, and at YMCA Children’s Programs, we are committed to enriching the lives of every child by providing a warm and secure environment to thrive.
We provide a warm, fun and safe environment that connects and cares for children, young people, educators, families and the community.
We nurture “the whole child” their physical, emotional, social, cognitive and spiritual wellbeing by providing an environment that encourages children and young people to participate, take risks and explore nature.
We are invested to deliver the highest quality programs led by a team of qualified, capable, passionate and engaged educators.
We respect diversity by acknowledging the cultural backgrounds, languages, values and contributions of all families and the surrounding community.
Clyde North YMCA ELC was custom built in 2017 with a focus on creating warm, inviting and engaging spaces for our children.
Each room in our centre opens onto our natural outdoor space. We keep the doors open most of the day to encourage indoor/outdoor play. This, along with learning experiences and supervision in both the indoor and outdoor environments allows children to explore, build on their interests and make connections to the natural environment.
Our centre is located on the grounds of Wilandra Rise Primary School, where we run a before and after school program and school holiday program.
This co-location and ongoing relationship with the school allows children attending our centre to experience our unique school readiness program.
It also allows parents with children of different ages to have a convenient pick up and drop off in one location.
We know learning occurs naturally, and children thrive and learn best when their interests are incorporated into their time spent with us. To encourage this development, we plan our programs to complement the children’s passions and needs (along with incorporating the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
Some key elements to our program include:
- Child Initiated Learning
- Learning through play
- Risk-based play
- Nature play and appreciation
- Messy play
We are proud to be an accredited child-safe organisation by the Australian Childhood Foundation (ACF). It is our policy that, as a minimum, two educators are on duty at all times at our centres. This policy — which exceeds the minimum staffing requirements of the Education and Care Services National Law — helps ensure your child is safe and gives us time to concentrate on their individual needs.
Our daily fee is $102
We offer casual bookings to families (with or without a permanent booking) for the same price, with no additional fees charged. Learn more about our casual bookings by visiting our website childrensprograms.ymca.org.au/casualbookings
We are open from 6:30am to 6:30pm Monday to Friday
